I find that Ernesto Neto’s artworks are very aesthetically pleasing in my opinion, which he has created through his use and combination of the elements and principles of art.
I feel that Neto’s artwork gives of a very playful and vibrant vibe, through his use of soft shapes and lines and his use of form. The fact that most of his artworks are installation pieces and can be interacted with is another factor that makes Neto’s artwork appealing as many look they would be fun to interact. This interaction with the artwork also makes the artwork feel more playful, as you are not just looking at the artwork, you get to feel it and play with, which also makes the artwork more appealing to a younger audience. Another reason I find Neto’s artwork to be appealing to me is through his use of texture. Texture is a massive part in all of Neto’s artworks and presents its self in a huge variety from the soft and cushy texture of ‘Sister Naves’ to the rough and sturdy texture of ‘The Sun Lits Life, Let the Son.’ I find it amazing to see an artist experiment with so many different types of materials and textures. |
